Known by its famous nickname River City, Sacramento has a variety of attractions to offer like wildlife, wine country touring, hiking, fishing, fairs etc. With warm summers and cool winters, anytime is a good time to visit. Taking a vacation in the gold mountains is a magical experience.
Another reason that makes Sacramento vacation even better is the warm climate during the summer and the cool breeze in the winter. To make your vacation exciting there are a variety of tours and adventures like the Delta Seaplane Tour, Delta River Cruise, Escape Sac Tour, Gibson Ranch Park Equestrian, Yolo Land and Cattle Co. etc. These tours include water splashdowns, and river cruises, which include splendid views of Angel Island, Alcatraz, and various other towns on the river banks, along with spectacle of the opening and closing of bridges. Romantic dinners are also included on the cruises.
Kayaking and rafting is another attraction in Sacramento. You can get specialized training in both, along with a tour of the Sacramento Lake, and the various areas of Nevada. The thrill obtained from these adventure sports will always come to mind when you think of Sacramento later. Such adventure sports are taught at special training schools like River Dancers, California Canoe and Kayak, Current Adventures Kayak School and Trips.

Make sure to take your binoculars and hiking boots on your trip to Sacramento, because of the number of hiking trails it has to offer. You can hike along the Sacramento River, and see the scenic views of the mountains, and the rapids.
The American River Parkway, which is a 32-mile trail, goes up the river and winds through the city. If you are not up to hiking the entire way, you can still enjoy the sections that you have already chosen. From hiking over footbridges to walking alongside the scenic American River, you'll get to see everything from rapids to sandbars and smooth ponds. Shared by both mountain bikers as well as equestrians, this trail is open to dogs as well. As you hike along this trail you will get to see the diverse wildlife along its path, along with shore birds and songbirds in the remote areas. Since this breathtaking parkway stretches from Folsom Lake to Old Sacramento, which is a considerable distance, most people prefer to arrange for their cars to be parked at their chosen destination, in order not have to backtrack all the way. This trail that runs along the river is particularly popular with biking enthusiasts.
Sacramento also has some great biking trails has Biking to offer as well. In 2004, Sacramento incorporated master bike trails through the wilderness, connecting various cities and towns. Attractive trails combined with bicycle-friendly communities make Sacramento a great place to visit on two wheels.
